Week of Prayer Day 6

Reflection and Prayer

REFLECTION:

The church is to be the gateway, the doorway, to bring the reality of heaven into every community, every city, every nation. God desires to be awesome in our unique, special local setting through our unique special church. Let us stir our faith to believe God and our passion to pursue earnestly after all that He has promised and believe to see the supernatural invade our church and our community.

Galatians 3:5, “Does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you because you observed the law, or because you believe what you heard.”

Hebrews 2:4, “God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.”

John 14:12, I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even grater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

PRAY

A strong desire and determination to discover and practice all that church was meant to be.

A boldness to break out into unfamiliar territory in spite of little results at times.

A cultivating of new, strong desire for the supernatural that affects the entire congregation.

Pray for breakthrough for all those you know need a miracle in their life.

Week of Prayer Day 5

Good Day! Rebecca here...

It is a pleasure of mine to be able to share the scripture God has placed on my heart for us individually and corporately as a church.

Anytime we start to transition into a new season, whether its in life or even in the calendar year, I am reminded of this passage:

Joshua 1:1-9

"After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses' aide: "Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give them- to the Israelites. I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates- all the Hittite country- to the Mediterranean Sea in the west. No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, So I will be with you; I will never leave you or forsake you. Be strong and courageous because you will lead these people to inherit the land swore to their ancestors to give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

Observation:

The Israelites were going through a time of transition, and as we see in this scripture, Joshua needed courage to carry on in the calling that God gave him. Many times in our own lives we don't always see how things may work or what is down the line, especially when stepping into a new season. But, as you read on God give Joshua assurance, that He will be with him and he will receive all God's promises. But it goes further, we must not only just have the faith that He is with us, but if we cling to Him, and meditate on His Word, we will be successful in all things where ever we may go.

Application:

What is God saying to me in this season?

What areas do I need to change or trust in Him?

Pray:

Heavenly Father, thank you that you guide us through every season, that you care about the circumstances of our lives. I pray that you would help us to trust in you and cling to your Word through this next season both corporately and individually. Show me your way Lord, give me courage, that I may be successful in the position you have placed me. Help us to further your Kingdom and take ground for your sake in Jesus name Amen.

Week of Prayer Day 4

DAY OF PRAYER:

NEW RELATIONSHIPS:

Luke 19:1-9:

Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through it. Now a man named Zacchaeus was there; He was a chief tax collector and was rich. He was trying to get a look at Jesus, but being a short man he could not see over the crowd. So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, because Jesus was going to pass that way.

And when Jesus came to that place, He looked up and said to him, “Zacchhaeus, come down quickly, because I must stay at your house today.” So he came down quickly and welcomed Jesus joyfully.

And when the people saw it, they all complained, “He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.”

But Zacchaeus stopped and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, half of my possessions I now give to the poor, and if I have cheated anyone of anything, I am paying back four times as much.”

Then Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this household, because he too is a son of Abraham!

PRAYER & REFLECTION

1. Ask God: Please open my eyes to new spaces that give opportunities for new relationships in my life.

2. Pray to be undeterred, as Jesus was when ridiculed for being with those others didn’t understand .

3. Spend time praying for the church to have Christlike hospitality

Week of Prayer Day 3

Hey Church!

Pastor James here, and I have the privilege of sending the prayer email today!

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 NKJV

Spoiler alert. In case you were wondering, this verse has already happened because the Messiah, Jesus, has already been given to us. The word ‘government’ in this verse essentially refers to a “dominion, power, or sovereignty through legal authority,” which means everything in existence rests on the shoulders of Jesus.

The verse that says, “and His name will be called,” is worth pointing out too. In Hebraic thought, a name does not just identify or distinguish a person; it expresses the very nature of his being. This makes complete sense since all the names listed in the verse are exactly who Jesus is: Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace! He doesn’t give us all the things; He is all of these things.

I believe the local and global Church desperately needs to realize again Who Jesus is and what His authority actually means! For their personal relationships with Him, but also the Great Commission. Imagine if every church in the world had a re-revelation of the power of Jesus. This isn’t some nice catchphrase; this is a sign-sealed-delivered truth we live in. The Church of Christ is eternal and has the One with everything resting on His shoulders in charge. What are we waiting for?

Hebrews 4:16 says we can come to the throne of grace praying BOLD prayers to God because of Jesus and that we can stand firm in our faith.

Today, I want to encourage you to pray for the Church locally and globally. Pray that the Church community would be confident, bold, and relentless in their faith. Pray that there would be an awakening with a fresh harvest of the lost with ready laborers like never before. Pray for the persecuted church in other countries that the Holy Spirit would protect and break any weapon against them.

Prayer starter: Dear Jesus, I thank you for your beautiful church. I pray that your church around the earth would be One with you as You are with the Father. I thank you that the gates of hell will not prosper against it and that it is covered in your riches in glory. I pray that the world would know we belong to You, by the way we love each other…

Week of Prayer Day 2

Hi everyone! Anne here 🙂

The Scripture on my heart today is Matthew 21:21-22 (NIV):

"21 Jesus replied, 'Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, "Go, throw yourself into the sea," and it will be done. 22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.'"

This passage reminds us that faith unlocks great authority for us as believers! Jesus teaches that with unwavering faith, we can speak to our circumstances, and they will change. It’s a powerful call to trust deeply in God’s promises and His power.

Notice how Jesus says “if you believe.” The “if” is key—it’s conditional. It’s an invitation to grow in trust and embrace a faith that is steady and strong. Our faith grows strong when we are closely connected to God, allowing His thoughts and desires to guide us. This close relationship helps us align our prayers with His will.

So today, let’s immerse ourselves in God’s Word, deepen our relationship with Him, and stand firm in our faith. Remember, no matter how challenging the situation, God is always listening and ready to act!

The song "Easy" by Elevation Worship beautifully captures this truth:

“When You say, 'Mountains, move,' they do, they do. When You speak to the sea, it breaks in two. What I call impossible is easy for You, Lord. What's a wall to a Waymaker? What's a chain to a Chainbreaker? What's a grave to a God who's greater?" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sa93t5kmoUQ)

These lyrics remind us that what seems impossible to us is easy for God. He is our Waymaker, Chainbreaker, and Stone Roller. No obstacle is too great for Him!

Today, I encourage you to speak faith over your circumstances with confidence. Remember, with God, nothing is beyond reach. 🌿

Let’s pray together:

“Lord Jesus, we thank You for Your amazing power available for us and for being with us in every situation. Help us to trust You more deeply and to align our prayers with Your will. Strengthen our faith so that we can speak to our mountains and see them move by Your power. With You, nothing is impossible. We trust in Your greatness and we rest in confidence that we will see Your miracles in our lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Blessings,

Anne

WEEK OF PRAYER

Day 4

Thursday January 5, 2022

Let’s do some door opening prayer.

Colossians 4:3, “And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ.”

Ephesians 6:19, “Pray for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given known the mystery of the gospel.”

1 Corinthians 16:9, …”because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me.”

1 Corinthians 2:4-5, “My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power.”

FOLLOW THE PROGRESSION:

Paul asked for WORDS to be given to him and that he would speak with boldness.

Then Paul says a wide door has been opened to him.

Then he says his preaching was accompanied by the power of God.

WE SHOULD FOLLOW THIS EXAMPLE:

  1. Let’s pray for open doors to share the Gospel.

  2. Let’s pray for bold proclamation.

  3. Let’s pray for a demonstration of power to accompany the Gospel shared.

We pray for a wide door to be opened to us to go through and declare the word the Lord has given us with a demonstration of the power of God.

All Things New

NEW STRENGTH:

Isaiah 40:31, But those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.

PRAY:

  1. Ask God for patience in the waiting.

  2. Pray for renewed strength, elevated perspective and courage to rise above present circumstances.

  3. Pray for discernment of whether to run or walk in each given situation and believe for His promise of endurance.

NEW MERCIES:

Lamentations 3:22-24, The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness, his mercies begin afresh each morning.

PRAY:

  1. Say a prayer of gratitude for God’s faithfulness and endless mercies.

  2. Pray these verses as a declaration.

NEW BIRTH: Born into a New Family:

1 Peter 1:3-5, Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish , spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

PRAY:

  1. Give thanks to God for redemption and a new life that is hidden in Christ. (Colossians 3:3)

  2. Pray for greater understanding of your new birth into the family of God and for an uprooting of anything not planted by Him.

  3. Ask God for Spiritual eyes and ears to see and hear beyond the physical and the audible.

  4. Pray for selfless, emboldened faith to speak truth in love and to pursue reconciliation of people to God.

7 Days Of Prayer 2023- Day 1

WEEK OF PRAYER

DAY 1

January 2, 2023

Matthew 6:9

This, then is how you should pray. “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.”

Who better to teach us how to pray than Jesus himself? In Matthew 6, He gives us the gift of a road map to guide us in times of prayer. As Jesus teaches us, we are first and foremost to focus our minds on who we’re praying to.

We address our prayers to our Father in Heaven. God is not just any Father, but is a good Father who loves, protects and provides for all His children. So, we can lean into prayer with complete trust in the caring, comfort and character of our God.

Jesus continues by saying, “Hallowed by your name” or “Holy is your name.”

The order is noteworthy. At the beginning of prayer we are instructed to have a posture of worship towards our Father in Heaven. The one to whom we are praying has a name that is holy and is exalted. Our God is high and lifted up, set apart from any other being.

Psalm 29:2 instructs us to “Ascribe to the Lord glory due his name, worship the Lord in the splendour of his holiness.”

We come before God inane and humility, with great expectations and hope.

Psalm 52:9 “ I will praise you forevermore what you have done, in your name I will hope, for your name is good.

PRAY:

  1. As you pray today, start by acknowledging God as your Heavenly Father. Declare that He is a good Father who loves you unconditionally and is with you in your circumstances today.

  2. Now spend a few moments acknowledging God for His holiness. Praise Him for His attributes (e.g., He is worthy, all powerful, forgiving, Saviour, healer)

  3. Call on the all powerful name of Jesus to help you with issues that are heavy on your heart. Freely share your concerns with Him.

HOW TO PRAY: 3 SIMPLE THINGS TO REMEMBER

How To Pray Header.png

Feeling Like You Want To Pray, But Not Sure How? These 3 Simple Tips Will Help.

Have you ever wanted to pray but wondered if you were doing it right or if there was a formula you needed to know?

  You. Are. Not. Alone.

Searches for “how to pray”  have surged on Google over the last year, and we can all understand why.

We’ve all had the realization that many aspects of our lives are out of our control.  Because of this, it makes perfect sense to want to chat with our creator.  The Bible has some simple instructions to demystify it for you if praying feels overwhelming or uncomfortable.

HowToPray_1.jpg

Here Are 3 Simple Things To Remember When Praying.

TIP #1 Drop The Pressure To Perform

7“When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. 8Do not be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!
— Matthew 6:5-7

Jesus wasn’t into prayer being a performance. Prayer isn’t about using big words or being eloquent. God’s not checking your grammar and isn’t judging your delivery. In fact, here in Matthew, we’re directed not to repeat stuff over and over or talk just for the sake of talking. God’s not deaf, and there isn’t any magical combination of words to get him to listen to you. This is a heart thing, not a performance thing...so take the pressure off and start the conversation. He’s always listening.

TIP #2 Be Yourself

9Pray like this:
Our Father in heaven,
may your name be kept holy.
— Matthew 6:9

In this part of the book of Matthew, Jesus is teaching about prayer.  He reminds his disciples that when you pray, pray to your Father.

For some of us, praying to a father can feel weird.  We may not have had a dad who was present, attentive or even very loving.  Jesus wants to invite you into a relationship with your heavenly Father.  He knew you before you were even born.  The Bible says that he has even gone as far as numbering each and every hair on your head; that’s how much he cares.   Your heavenly Father unconditionally loves you, so rejection and judgment are off the table.

  You are safe with him.

When you pray to your heavenly Father, you can be yourself.  There’s no pressure.

TIP #3 Invite Him Into Your World

How To Pray_Impact Toronto.png

Jesus continues to teach his disciples how to pray by telling them to invite God into our world.  He demonstrates prayer to God by asking that His Kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

But our prayers are often filled with trying to convince God to get on board with our plans. They can turn into a negotiation instead of a conversation between Father and child.  Negotiating with God is easy to fall into, but it comes from a belief that you know better, have a better plan, and that God is withholding something from you.  He’s not.  God loves you and is for you.  Negotiations aren’t necessary.

Throughout the scriptures, we see that God is for us.  He sees the other side of whatever we’re going through.  He knows our needs, and he wants to walk with us every step of the way.

In prayer, you can be yourself; you can speak freely, just as you would to someone who loves you unconditionally. You can trust that God is for you, and He has a plan for your life that is meant to prosper you and not harm you.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

Thanks so much for being here today. We sincerely hope that this brought you clarity on how to pray and that it’s taken any apprehension you may be feeling about starting a conversation with God. We’d love to connect with you more. Feel free to join us on Youtube every Sunday for more content on connecting with God during these crazy times.

Prayer Day 3

Notes

The Bible tells us that God is willing to hear and answer our prayers. He is not too busy.  He is very interested in our lives. He cares about His children because He is our heavenly Father.

In Luke 18:1-8, Jesus tells a story of a persistent widow who finally got what she wanted from a mean judge. It is easy to wrongly interpret this story. We can think of ourselves as the poor helpless widow and God as the the judge, who is not really interested in our situation because He is too busy running the universe. Jesus is not trying to tell us to beg and bother God until He finally has to give us what we want just lust to stop us annoying Him.

But no, this story really explains how God feels about our prayers.

It is a parable using a study of opposites.

We are not like the widow.

We have a relationship with the judge, because we are His children and He loves to hear our voice.

Secondly, our loving heavenly Father is nothing like this judge.

God is righteous, holy and tender, responsive and sympathetic.

According to Lev 26, Deut 28 He wants to bless us and is willing and ready to share His resources with His people.

Not only is God WILLING TO HELP US He is also ABLE to help us.

God has all power and He can change any circumstance or any situation.

He is able to do immeasurably more that all we ask or imagine. Eph 3:20-21

Psalm 84:11, For the Lord is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not evil, to you a future and a hope.

Luke 18:1, Then He spoke a parable to them that men always out to pray and not lose heart
